By choosing to become an egg donor, you're offering the priceless gift of family to those who deeply desire it.
1. Application and screening
Begin by filling out a detailed application. You'll undergo medical and psychological screenings, and there may be genetic testing involved. This phase can range from a few days to several weeks.
2. Matching with intended parents
Once approved, you'll be matched with individuals or couples who dream of becoming parents. The matching process can be immediate or take a few months, depending on your unique characteristics and the needs of the intended parents.
3. Ovarian stimulation
Over a span of 10-14 days, you'll receive hormone injections to stimulate your ovaries. This ensures multiple eggs mature for retrieval. During this period, expect regular medical check-ups to monitor your body's response.
4. Egg retrieval
This minor surgical procedure typically takes 20-30 minutes. However, it's advisable to reserve a full day for both preparation and post-procedure recovery.
5. Recovery
Most donors bounce back to their regular routines within a day or two. Some might experience minor side effects from the medications or procedure, needing a slightly extended recovery.

For your safety, ovum donors can donate no more than six times. This guideline was set by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
We cannot provide medical advice, but many of our donors have had children after donation. In most cases, donating eggs does not impact a woman's future fertility.
Most of our donors report minimal side effects akin to PMS symptoms, such as bloating, headaches, mood swings, and cramping. While we aim to minimize side effects, occasionally a donor might experience hyperstimulation post-retrieval, which can vary in severity and, in rare cases, require a day's hospitalization to balance hormones.
Herpes or HPV will not necessarily disqualify you from becoming an egg donor unless you're in an active outbreak. These diseases are not transmittable through your eggs, so clinics will generally accept donors who have herpes or HPV.
Yes. Tubal ligation does not affect your ability to donate.
You donate between 10 and 20 eggs per egg retrieval procedure. During your standard ovulation cycle, your body begins to mature between 10 and 20 eggs, but usually, only one egg is ready for fertilization.
Egg donation offers several benefits, including the altruistic reward of helping infertile couples or individuals achieve their dream of parenthood and generous financial compensation for you as the donor. The process involves thorough medical screenings, which can provide donors with valuable insights into your own health. On the downside, egg donation requires a significant time commitment, involving multiple medical appointments, hormone injections, and the retrieval procedure itself.
